Once the top is pieced, three questions remain: how much backing, how big the batting, and how much binding. They all start from the same quilt size, so this calculator answers all three at once — backing with the fewest seams (4" overhang per side), batting with 4" overhang, and straight-grain binding strips with 10" spare for joining.
